Okay girl, you need work: You are a natural-born giver! You have a big heart with a lot of love to give, and you give it freely to those around you. You make sure the needs of your loved ones are met, but somehow you fall through the cracks of taking care of you!

Self-care is not selfish, it’s about taking care of your whole self, mentally, physically, and emotionally. It’s about showing yourself love and kindness everyday and giving yourself permission to not only give love, but to receive love from yourself and those around you, and that means checking in with yourself regularly, taking breaks whenever you need them, and managing your stress and anxiety levels before they get out of control. 

Ultimately, we’d all love to have standing weekly appointments at the spa, and while that’s not impossible, oftentimes it’s impractical. So what do you do? Well, start by taking a few extra minutes in the shower to enjoy the warm water running over your shoulders. Indulge yourself and massage your body with a rich, creamy moisturizer instead of hurriedly slapping on some lotion and calling it good! Take a few minutes each day to turn that tv off, light a candle, and sit in peace and just chill and relax without your phone.

Show yourself as much love as you show to others by investing in you, your happiness, and well-being because as you know, you can’t give what you don’t have, and you definitely can’t pour from an empty cup!
