Self Care To Do at Home

Self-care doesn't have to be difficult or complicated, and it doesn't have to break the bank. In fact, every part of your self-care routine/regimen should be enjoyable from scheduling your appointments, going to the store to grab your ingredients, whipping them up in your kitchen and using them ... self-care is all about enjoying the time you spend loving and taking care of yourself.

Today we're sharing with you four (4) quick and easy self-care treatments you can have fun making as using right at home!

Foot Soak

Queen, your feet are what lets you stand tall, please don’t neglect them. We love baking soda, it’s a natural skin softener and exfoliant! Add ½ cup of baking soda per gallon of warm water in a shallow tub and gently stir to dissolve the baking soda.

You can add a few drops of your favorite skin-safe essential oil to create a whole vibe and then sit back, relax and soak your feet while you chill with a cocktail and your Netflix favs!

Rinse away the baking soda, pat your feet dry and gently massage your feet with a moisturizer to keep feet soft and supple. For ultimate moisturization and softness, we recommend gently massaging your feet with a rich, creamy moisturizer like one of our whipped body butters and slipping on a pair of cotton socks.

Remember, baking soda is a natural exfoliant so it may chip your polish if your toes are painted. But on the bright side, there’s your inspo for scheduling your next mani/pedi!

Puffy Eyes

Struggling with under eye puffiness and/or circles? There are many causes for these issues, but we have a very simple treatment that can work wonders especially if you’re a green tea lover!

The benefits of green tea seem to be limitless when ingested but girl, if you’re a green tea drinker, here’s a pro tip for you! After steeping your tea, lightly drain on a paper towel and store in a zip lock bag in the refrigerator.

Once chilled, sit back, relax with eyes closed and place one tea bag over each eye for 5-10 minutes to reduce inflammation and rejuvenate eyes. Not a tea drinker? That's okay, slice and chill a cucumber for the same great results! This refreshing eye treatment can be done 2-3 times a week or whenever your eyes need a pick me up!

Coffee Scrub

Caffeine is great for the skin! It helps to reduce inflammation, puffiness, as well as helps to tighten and brighten skin. Are you a coffee drinker? Instead of tossing those coffee grounds, dry them on a paper towel and make your own coffee scrub!

Add ½ cup of grounds to ½ cup of coconut oil or your favorite non comedogenic oil (i.e. avocado, argan, jojoba, sweet almond oil etc.) add ½ cup of sugar and mix.

We like using brown sugar in our Café Caramel Mocha exfoliating body polish, but white cane sugar works fine too. We suggest storing in a shatter-proof, plastic bail jar with a lid. If using while in the shower please take care to keep water out of your scrub to keep the nasties from growing, and be mindful, the oils may feel amazing on the skin but they can leave your tub/shower a bit slippery.

Lip Scrub

No self-care routine or regimen is complete without proper lip care!

To a small bowl combine 1 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 teaspoon honey, 2 teaspoons white granulated sugar and mix thoroughly.

Gently apply to lips in a circular motion with your ring finger as that finger naturally uses less pressure when used.

Dampen a soft cloth in warm water and gently wipe away. For extra hydration and softness we suggest following up with a moisturizing lip balm like our nourishing Argan and Rose Hip Lip Serum for hydrated, petal soft lips.

We hope you have fun trying these quick and easy self-care treats! Let us know how you enjoy them and which turned out to be your favorite!
